A field recording of a fast flowing river immediately after heavy rainfall was captured on two minutes of water damaged ¼” reel-to-reel magnetic tape. The water damaged tape will consequently have affected the quality of the recording documented on the video.
This video depicts the magnetic tape being played back near the river, the tape falling to the floor whilst playing; abstractly mimicking the flow of water.
Water Damaged Tape Flow was featured in a group video screening held in conjunction with the Bridgeport Art Trail in Bridgeport CT, USA on 12th November 2016.
The theme of the screening was examining water as more than just a landscape, artist Crystal Heiden curated this event which was held in the American Fabrics Building in Bridgeport, USA.
