This has taken over a year of planning but FINALLY I’m now accepting pre-orders for GX Jupitter-Larsen / Zebra Mu Split 1″ lathe cut record on Quagga Curious Sounds!
This is likely to be the smallest lathe cut I’ll ever release, possibly even one of the smallest in the world. 110 will be made, ironically it is the most copies I’ve ever put out too! This dinky thing will feature an exclusive (and very short) track from GX and myself. Expect a spoken word piece from GX and experimental noise/drone type composition from yours truly. Each 1” will be nestled in fold-out artwork and other packaging delights….
Prices are (GBP):
Estimated time of release upon writing this post is about 6-7 weeks, they will be dispatched to you on the day it is out.
**PLEASE BE AWARE** Expect a handmade and extremely experimental lathe cut record (45 RPM), monstrously lo-fi and stupidly challenging to play…. EXCELLENT!
A new anti-record project sees the playing surface of a pre-existing flexi disc carefully spray painted, sanded down and stapled. Much like Anti-Flex released back in 2010, all existing music has been practically been eradicated leaving harsh surface noise if played back (which must be done with extreme caution!).
Each flexi disc comes with a colour centre label which is packaged in a black stickered cardboard sleeve. Every copy includes an additional colour insert printed onto white card. Edition of four hand-numbered copies
Just over a minute of focused Harsh Noise and squawking electronics cut onto 5.5″ square pieces of recycled clear plastic, originally used to package venetian blinds! A highly experimental and very lo-fi lathe cut record, a lot of surface noise is present and sound quality comparable to a picnic plate lathe cut or old 78.
Every copy features B&W artwork/information printed onto pearlescent bronze paper. Each record is housed in a white paper sleeve with artwork printed in green ink.
Released on Quagga Curious Sounds in an edition of 11 hand-numbered copies, unfortunately these are now sold out!
A new split between myself and Cardboard Club prince Robert Ridley-Shackleton (as Duplo Chat) on Quagga Curious Sounds!
Gritty, sparse and lo-fi HNW from Duplo Chat, complimented by an extended noise/drone session assaulted onto a faulty Walkman from myself. Just under 40 minutes running time. Lo-fi is King.
A colour label is mounted onto one side of a recycled light grey cassette, side B features the original tape content. Colour and B&W artwork is printed onto white paper and inserted in a green backed library case.
Monumental is the first microcassette release I’ve directly worked on and released via Quagga Curious Sounds! It features two slabs of brutal lo-fi mono harsh noise wall, with the option of being played at either 2.4 cm/s (60 minutes total running time) or double the duration by playing at 1.2 cm/s.
Folded artwork is printed in red ink onto black paper, an additional insert is printed in black ink onto red card. Each labelled microcassette is tied up with black ribbon and packaged in a black and silver zip lock bag.
It was released in an edition of six copies and sold out almost immediately upon release! If you missed it check out this brief demo video>>>>
Torturing Nurse / Zebra Mu Split C10 is out now on my label Quagga Curious Sounds!
Anticipate two slabs of straight up ruthless Harsh Noise from myself and Torturing Nurse!
Each copy features a black cassette shell with colour labels and double-sided colour artwork printed onto two sheets of white card. Every cassette is folded inside a printed B&W collage on yellow paper that is held together with a rubber-stamped colour sticker. A random 35mm vintage colour slide or cloth patch is included; everything is packaged inside a clear zip-lock bag.
